Techmill Denton
Denton’s startup community has seen explosive growth recently, setting the stage for unprecedented interest in our city for building startups. TechMill is a non-profit group assembled by members of the community with a common goal: make Denton the best place to start an independent, creative, bootstrapped tech business.
With it’s unique creative culture, major universities, and independent businesses, Denton has the potential to be the most unique startup city in North Texas. TechMill was founded to help Denton realize this potential. We are building, organizing, and advocating the Denton startup scene.
Kubos
KubOS, our light weight flight RTOS and framework, brings unparalleled productivity and functionality to the flight critical MCUs of satellites. We offer companies deploying KubOS integration and operations support for their missions, greatly reducing the risk of software failure while in orbit with our SLA Contracts.
Open Denton
Open Denton is a grassroots open data initiative to promote public datasets, improve government transparency, expand awareness, and increase civic engagement in Denton, Texas. We are a diverse group of people with a wide variety of technical and non-technical skills. This project is supported by a larger nationwide initiative called What Works Cities.
DrawAttention
DrawAttention is a lean startup that makes whiteboards and blackboards for laptops. The company has no storefront, no home office, and no investment capital, yet it sells its products internationally. It took 10 hours to build an e-commerce site complete with analytics, social media, and email marketing. Their investment capital was $13 for a domain name.
Co-founders Eric Swayne and Kyle Taylor want you to know that it is ridiculously easy to start a company, and enjoy contributing their time and experience back to the Denton community they call home.
From The Future
We are a game development studio based on the square in downtown Denton, Texas. We’ve worked on nearly every gaming platform known to humankind, although we specialize in mobile and other emerging devices including iOS, Android, Pebble, Kinect, Oculus Rift and Gear VR.

A coworking space and entrepreneur center for innovators, startups, and dreamers in the heart of Denton, Texas.
In partnership with the Dallas Entrpreneur Center and backed by the City of Denton, local entrepreneurs and freelancers can join the collaborative space for $150/month, or $250/month for a dedicated desk. For those looking for a more private option, offices are available for $550/month.
Denton is already bursting at the seams with startup and tech meetups, and Stoke aims to help bring community initiatives together under one roof to build a truly collaborative technology hub.

UNT Innovation Greenhouse
Students at the University of North Texas with ideas from tech innovations to new businesses can visit the Innovation Greenhouse and find on- and off-campus resources to make their ideas come to life.
The Innovation Greenhouse helps students outline structure for their ideas, refers them to networking and internship opportunities, and holds workshops on investment and other topics to foster innovation. The Greenhouse provides referrals for students to on-campus resources, including UNT’s Murphy Center for Entrepreneurship, housed in UNT’s College of Business, as well as faculty at Discovery Park who can help students with access to lab space and provide mentoring.
Serve Denton
Serve Denton supports nonprofits that help people become self-sufficient.
We do this through colocation by providing office space for nonprofits so more of their money can go toward their mission. When nonprofits are officing together, they are able to communicate and collaborate more effectively through using each other’s resources and contacts.

The TechMill Workshop Series consists of community-led tech classes across a variety of topics. By working with local universities and libraries, we bring together all current publicly available classes to provide a single calendar for tech education. The series is completely free to anyone wanting and willing to learn new technologies or improve their own professional skill set.
Classes are tagged by different categories, allowing you to customize your own track based on your interests: front-end development, back-end development, big data, hardware, design, etc.
